I have to say haven't gotten fully into the app, but I'm already disappointed. I downloaded the app one time trial. I was able to engage in 1 lesson. I was absolutely in love with layout as they were broken by subjects and areas of study . I really excited. However, after paying for the subscription the layout is totally different. It is not broken down by areas of study, as in the free download. I'm going to play with it for a few days. But I'm seriously thinking about unsubscribing.

Throughout med school everyone has always talked about SketchyMedical but there were so many times where I felt like it was just as much effort (if not more) to memorize their intricate drawings than it was to just memorize the facts. I have a very short attention span and always struggled with pure memorization. Picmonic seems to be doing a great job for me while I prepare for my first round of Step/COMLEX exams. I really love how concise the videos are but also the variety of topics covered!

The 7 day free trial is a con and a trap! I subscribed to the free trial to see if this type of thing would help me, and though it was beneficial, it was not the best study tool for me, so I canceled the day before the end of my "free trial." But the Picmonic folks and the Google Play folks obviously teamed up to make money by tricking people, because even though I canceled my subscription one full day before I was to be charged for the year, it was too late and I was forced to pay for a year.

Using pictures to help remember things is great and all... but it would be FAR more useful if what was going on in the pictures was somewhat consistent to one overarching scenario. The things going on in many of the pictures are often times so random, that I'm more so just trying to remember what was in each picture than the medical topics they're supposed to help me remember. The information itself is good though.

Picmonic saves a ton of my study time! All the hard work is completely eliminated. I just play them and take daily quizzes and soon, I have memorized them all. AMAZING!! I also love that I can see how I am doing against fellow users and motivate myself to do more. All I do is to setup my Playlists by selecting the chapters of my book or searching specific picmonics relevant to the lectures in the Browse or Search feature. I would NEVER be able to memorize so much so fast without Picmonic!!!
