I finished this game. I have never cried over a video game, but this... this is different. Spoiler warning for the next paragraph. I chose Klaus and parenting him was the hardest thing I've done. The scene around the end with the implications of abuse absolutely destroyed me. The way the credits said how it could go several ways, how it could've been great or terrible, I almost choked up. I will donate to Children Of War if I ever have the money.

I love the game and grow very fond of the child. The story is touching and heartbreak at times. I first played the free version and then found myself buying the full version for wanting the ending. I've completed the game twice and still yearn for more, or even a part two, for a more ending for good and bad outcomes for the child and your character. I wish there was a little more to the game for the ending and maybe a little more interaction with the child. But overall, it's a great game.

This game is hands down amazing. I really enjoyed the educational aspect in regards to WW2. It was a pov I had never seen before and I'm a huge history buff. My only 2 complaints: a few actions are repetitive and it would be nice for more features added. The game also didn't feel long enough. I hope there is more added in the future as I spent the $3 and felt like it went by so fast. 🥺

EDITED: The previous issue with crashing has been resolved. Thanks to the devs for replying to my review and fixing the issue. This is a terrific game, I've played through before and it's a very educational and emotional experience. The story is very sad, but the child is so cute and it's a pleasure to "raise" them. The remaster is great! There are a lot of new activities to try and I like the updated graphics. I especially like that styling the child's hair no longer costs time! Edited

I love this game. Between the art style, the story line, and learning more about the past through playing it was great. There where times my heart just broke for the child. I kind of wish at the end it gave me the little score sheet thing like it had been giving me throughout the chapters. So I could see or the option to look through the picture book or something like that. The ending felt a little unfinished. Besides that I'm hoping there will be more someday and overall I enjoyed the game.
