A pile of weird choices: ginormous download for voiced story, runs well when not loading, but loads frequently... buuut animations feel slow and plodding overall. Text is tiny on mobile. Played enough to win poison fight, but already feel odd artificial tension between card-game-variance and "game outcomes affect story"... like, how? Is it just different consolation text or "save scumming or replay from start encouraged"...? Choice > rng for such a self-serious & consequences setup.

Only issue: When I beat the game, they upgrade all the opponents to max which is impossible to win matches. I've not won a single match. Add an adjustable slider and it's 5 stars again. 🙏 Amazing game. Excellent voice acting through the entire game. Fantastic animations. I enjoy the battles, there's some complexity with adjustable difficulty. Easiest $10 I've spent. The demo is short but does showcase just enough Edited

A game with voice acting, story, and great tactical gameplay! The story is grounded and the dialogue is very well written. The game is very balanced and there doesn't appear to be any gacha system whatsoever. You have to pay for the full game, which I will definitely do. But even the free trial version you can play a good number of battles to get the feel of the game and story. This is a hidden gem amongst all the other games in the playstore!

The trial was quite fun, but still some rough edges. There is also too much luck involved as the first hand can make or break a match which is ok for random matches but not story where the outcome of a story match may have impact to the storyline, perhaps. The difficulty is also not as balanced. The first poison match was really difficult. But the rest were easier. The full game is priced quite high for a mobile game. Not sure if it's worth the price.
