I pay for premium. I downloaded this app specifically to watch anime I couldn't find good subs / dubs elsewhere. It works just fine on my laptop, so long as I'm not streaming it through a call with a friend or something. On my phone, however, I can't watch anything. The app itself runs fine, it's not buggy or anything elsewhere, and the audio comes through just fine, but none of the shows play visuals. TLDR, don't download the mobile app, get it on a laptop or something for it to fully work.

This app is trash, it just interrupted my anime AGAIN, and I PAY for premium. If you are going to harass me on your app to give a review, here is my honest opinion: have some common sense. After typing this, I went to exit full screen because the app automatically froze after randomly forcing me to leave a review. However, the buttons to control the video, like subtitles and full screen, won't work on my phone at all while landscaped. Depressing. It's like you don't even try it yourselves first. Edited

8 or so years of my life, crunchyroll had been worthless to me. I couldn't watch anime without constant buffering no matter what I tried. However, I decided to give it another chance a few weeks back and there is a world of difference. The stream is smooth, the controls are decent, the search function isn't perfect, but works pretty well, and the wishlist is useful. My only big complaint now is the lack of an anime rate/review feature. Oh, and the occasional missing anime or subtitle error. Edited

The only big issue, that I have, is that when watching certain anime (on multiple occasions), it starts out free and before I could even finish, they end up being premium content. This I don't mind but at the same time, is frustrating because of the fact, that I'm cutoff from finishing. Then have to look for something else to watch, on the app. Other than that, I love the app and have been using it for years now. I just wish, that this would stop happening, as much as it does.

Audio and subtitles work, but video is just a black screen. issue began as soon as I updated to Android 14. my CR app is up to date, and issue persists through phone restart and app re-installation. video plays fine in chrome browser. I've sent this troubleshoot report I've a month to Crunchyroll when this issue first appeared in May. Now chrome redirects to the app, so I've uninstalled the app.
