Game functions, but the quality of the translation is highly questionable. I've been playing Ys games for decades and I don't think I've seen a translation this rough since the Super Nintendo era. the art and audio is also heavily compressed compared to the versions of Ys 1 & 2 this was built upon on other devices.

Simple but really really fun. The combat at first seems frustrating and basic but when it clicks it really clicks. very fun game for what is essentially bumping into people the videogame. I played with chronicles soundtrack and it was absolutely peak. amazing guitarwork and some really funky tracks mixed in there too. only real complaint is the final dungeon and it's design flaws and padding but otherwise this game is amazing and well worth the time. Very enjoyable for what it was. I did go find a walkthrough halfway through, too much needless backtracking and poor explanations of where to go. Love the action RPG elements especially

The game was beautiful. That last boss, on the other hand, is brutal. I tried for 4 days and even with a YouTube guide, I couldn't beat him. On to playing the second one.

retro jrpg feels with music and anime style cut scenes. too bad the movement controls are too sensitive and it is hard to control to the point of it being annoying Edited
