This game can be addicting but the offline "partner" is extremely frustrating. It holds cards and allows you to lose on multiple occasions instead of just playing the hands. I literally watch it get granted several piles and it holds onto everything regardless if it has matches to play or not. I get strategizing holding cards here and there to make sure you have enough to go out but this "partner" just isn't helpful. I've almost rage uninstalled several times. It also has way too many ads. I really like this - there are 2 differences from the way my family plays. family rules you need 2 canastas before you can go out, also we don't use a minimum point amount for your first play. I do wish I could turn off that minimum point amount off cause that's my least favorite thing about the game and why I knocked it down a point- if there is a way I can turn it off and I just haven't figured it out yet I'll bump it up to 5 stars!

Playing with four players is like having an idiot for a partner. Playing with two players, you are playing against an idiot. Bot player has only one thing in mind, laying down any playable cards with an attempt to go out as soon as possible. This often results in bot not being able to pick up on a frozen deck or being left with only one card in hand, making it impossible for it to make a canasta. It's fun to play against a single bot only when you need a confidence boost.

BIG problem with my partner. He discards a 2 and keeps another card instead of using the 2 and going out. Also, I go out and find my partner holding a 50 point wild and one other card instead of getting rid of the 50 pointer. These things happen more than once. Either the developer doesn't know how to play canasta or they are ignorant. I think I'll delete this and download a different version. Edited

Update: 7/24/2024 I was getting so frustrated I uninstalled the app! The opposing team had all the advantages, black 3s, multiples of same cards, & wild cards, etc. which kept me at a constant disadvantage! I couldn't even make initial melds of 50!!! I reinstalled it to see June'24I love Canasta. This version is good except when the cache gets too big and seems to stack the odds against you. The other team has all the advantages! Other than that, it's a decent app. Just keep it's cache cleaned. Edited
