I feel like there is real merit here, but there are just way, way, way too many design/execution flaws in the UI for me to recommend. Especially at a full 10 dollar price tag (empty text pop up boxes, or ring advisors text boxes that are half off screen, making reading a guessing game). This is common enough on a 'supported' tablet with 4:3 ratio that I got frustrated and thought of trying to get a refund. I'll try it on a 16:9 phone later, but shouldn't have to jump these hoops (the text of a text based game is important!). Also, I wish the manual was a little better. More links to key features (such as working out how magic/seasons is determined, or if there is any carry over) but my rating didn't include manual's consideration, only the clipping text. Edited

A fantastic game set in the greatest fantasy setting ever written. However this by far the worst version, the text is really like eye strainingly small with tons of empty space covering the screen, even the buttons are hard to press with how small they are. There doesnt seem to be any option to adjust any of text sizes in game though and this problem makes it very unpleasant to play.

I had to come back and give a proper review. I was able to install when I made enough room on my phone... 3x the amount it requires. The game is excellent though! Honestly worth the frustration of not being able to install it for a few days. The mythos is rich, the gameplay is unique, and the story is super interesting and personally shapeable. Only downside for me is that there are some actions that dont behave quite as you'd expect, and some RNG is rather opaque. If you're unsure, try it! Edited

The game itself is pretty entertaining. I imagine this is what old-school RPGs played like. I have been getting random crashes though (pixel 7). Only the event happening during the crash is reset, so it isn't a huge loss . It happened once when I was pretty far in a heroquest, and when I rebooted the game I failed the first stage of the quest, so crashes can be irksome. Otherwise, some UI elements are a little too small to comfortably handle , but no real complaints.

Great game, fun to play and great lore. If you're new to this, better read up the guide on Steam and cross-check all events on the wiki :P One big complain I have is that the game used to look fine on my older low DPI phone. But on my new 6.39 inch phone @ 1080x2340 ~403 DPI the fonts are simply too small (except for the info and manual page which is scaled up fine). Button hitboxes are small and may require multiple accurate presses to register - this is my biggest annoyance factor. The screen does not scale completely to fit the entire screen width. I tried editing some settings files under /data but no luck so far. Please consider enlarging the hitboxes, and scale everything up so that the game looks similarly as on a low resolution device, thank you. Edited
