On Pixel 8 Pro the game is unplayable until hardware acceleration is disabled in the settings. The game animations are rather choppy without acceleration but it avoids constant crashes. I like the score breakdowns at the end of each round. And it is nice to know when players discard the tile they drew. The app seems helpful for people who want to learn to play with real tiles. I would like to be able to mute all sounds without adjusting sliders so I can toggle sound off temporarily. Edited

Hi there; could you please try going to "Settings > 4th tab > Hardware Acceleration", and disabling it? It seems to be an issue with that on Pixel 8 devices for some reason.

It's very difficult to find a Riichi mahjong game and this one nails it. Yes,it's furry mahjong, but the game follows the rules well and is a great learning tool since you can't screw up a move, the game won't let you.if you are a beginner, there is some learning still needed, but with time, practice, and a lot of googling, you will learn the game. I highly recommend this game, it's done very well. If only it had custom online games,I would be set, but it is only single player.

It is difficult to create a software program that emulates a tabletop game with multiple surrogate (AI) opponents. Even the more so, doing this for a game with so many detailed special cases as any variant of mahjong must be nearly impossible. Despite that, this version of Japanese Riichi Mahjong does the job admirably, is playable and entertaining, and even has a selection of furry faced opponents with individual playing patterns and clever artwork. Prompts and occasional hints help the beginner along. Excellent job. Edited

The characters/character art and animations are really fun and provides a nice alternative to a more generic felt-table backdrop I've seen in other options. Would be nice if tiles could be a bit bigger? But there's a lot to fit on the screen, so maybe this is best. Also wanted to second the request for female NPCs, too! Edited

Thank you!
v1.06.60 should now give users with taller screens (like the Pixel 2 XL) a layout that has larger tiles - I hope you like it!
Some female characters are also in the works. :)
Glad you're enjoying the game.

A very fun and well designed game, with great art and mechanics. The tutorials are very helpful, and its the best riichi style mahjong app on the appstore. The only criticism I have is that for a new user, not knowing what u need or want in your hand is hard. I would love an update that either added a "What am I missing in my hand" or "Han total right now" option. Even a beginner mode that gives hints or options of what to discard would also be helpful. Otherwise, amazing game and worth it! Edited
