I enjoy the survival simulation every now and then, but if there was a recent update in 2024. The lack of starting water barrel is a bummer. It's not an easy game, and I don't expect easy at all, but I did appreciate the water barrel option when selecting items your colony brought or could get at the beginning. Probably the only down side that used to be present. But besides that, there are questions on the event 'Party' that pops up for the colonists and how to stop them from going crazy?

For newbies out there learning to play this game, if you tried searching your way for tutorials but can't find any, I'll give a few tips. First when starting the game, don't change the first 2 items (anvil and bread) change the seeds depending on you but I chose potato seeds. Secondly, prioritize getting wood and stone then making a well and market. This 2 will be your lifeline in the game cuz you shouldn't get everything via crafting(tools) cuz it's a waste. Lastly, keep all your settlers sane. Edited

This is for others who are attempting this game and have already (haven't gone deeper), the tutorial is short and does not explain a lot. 1. The pictures aren't the best representation of how to build your home. 2. The waves of enemy attacks don't have to be fought, after setting up food and a basic area, while building a foundation of a society start using a bit of wood or stone (whatever is in excess) for a wall to slowly claim territory. 3. (To the dev) make a more indepth manual/tutorial.

Liking this game so far. It's very challenging, as anything based on Dwarf Fortress should be, though considerably more streamlined than DF. There are some glitches, though, mostly in regards to changing the settings on fields or stockpiles, and I did accidentally erase all of my progress on a major building by trying to cancel a theoretical wall next to it that hadn't begun yet. The game could benefit from handling partially built structures differently from just planned ones.

It's alright. Major downsides are pretty much everything. It's extremely difficult to really do anything. Good premise but it's just not fun to play due to, well, everything. If it was made a bit easier, have it so their happiness and food interest didn't drop so quickly, and things aren't so expensive to make it would probably be a bit more playable in my opinion. Also the stuff you can pick at the very beginning before you start is very slim and you don't have enough money to get anything.
