Your response is that this was fixed in latest update--there is not one! Why so many bugs? I have to restart the app after completing the initial breathing exercise over half the time. Also, what is the reasoning of having us find a rest and complete a breathing exercise in forced portrait mode prior to taking a baseline of prefrontal activation, then requiring us to physically rotate the screen immediately prior to the measurement? It then freezes after a 15 min session losing all data. Edited

Hello Thaddeus, thank you for this feedback. The bugs you've encountered should be resolved in the latest app release. Please make sure to update and let us know if any of the issues persist.

The new audio feedback update is distracting. I liked the simple stars (option 1), once the sound changed during longer focus, I lost focus. Please make it a ping sound that happens only ONE time when milestones during session are reached (every new 10% increase: ex 20-30% in blood flow a bell sound would ring.)This would help immensely in improving the session.I've had to ask people to mention when I reach a new increment (eyes closed sessions)and the results are much improved(50%+ improvement) Edited

Lately the app is frozen on the Mendi opening screen and not fully going into the app. while this first device is the best on the mark in terms of hardware, it's software (app) is glitchy and slow with fixes. Mendi must fix this as the Muse device is now exploring fNIR and their app is better. Muse's hardware of fNIR is still lacking. Step it up Mendi! If your app doesn't work, then your hardware is useless. when the fix comes, so will the rating changes so 1 star until the app is operational Edited

Edit: I've used for more than 10 sessions at this point. None of the features have been improved upon. Truly a bummer. I've used it for two sessions now, and the in-app articles are duds. I can't open a single one. I'm genuinely considering returning the entire product due to this lack of functionality. Edited

App is stable. Brain blood flow training is something the world sorely needs. The user interface is cluttered and poorly designed, but the core function is easy to use, I would give it 5 star except one problem. They hide the results from you. The purpose of the device is to increase your baseline oxygenation in the frontal lobe. It takes a measument of this at the start of every session when calibrating but it won't show you this reading, so you have no idea if it is helping or not.

Thanks for the great feedback! Mendi uses continuous wave fNIRS, which tracks changes in oxygenation, not absolute values—so the baseline isn’t shown to avoid confusion. We’re working on clearer progress visuals and improving the UI. Please email us at
[email protected] if you have more questions.
Best,
