The best free app I've tried for audio monitoring (have not tried video, which is payable). You can calibrate the sensitivity to pick up the right sounds (a call, a cry, the sound of a fall etc). Battery level on baby device is also transmittes, so that you know when it needs charging. Reliable, has not crashed since I've used it (Android Oreo). Edited

Only tried the free version. So no video to evaluate. But the size of the feedback screen is very small almost worthless so this becomes only really useful for sound anyway. Works over Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi direct without internet! Wi-Fi was very stable Wi-Fi direct was kind of glitchy with connections. Often didn't connect. Neither one could reconnect automatically if the stream was broken but it does have an alarm if that happens Very sensitive microphone and good sound transmission with this app.

Update Nov 26, 2023: no sound gets transmitted to my receiving phone now, despite audio detected on the transmitter. I get an error message from the app telling me about the problem. My transmitter is running an older version of Android but has the latest app. Please fix! Prior to Nov 2023: Awesome app! Straightforward, quick setup with useful options like encryption and allowing it to override battery saver. Does exactly what it says. Nice work guys and thank you from a new parent! Edited

Awesome baby monitor. It picks up every little noise, even my older kids through the nursery wall. You can control the sensitivity of sound monitoring and it lets you know when the sender device has a low battery. I have had no connection issues in the 2 weeks i have been using it. I also have not seen any ads yet. Very pleased with this free version. Edited

This app is a great help. It's free (unless you really need the camera function), easy to use, & alerts you when your devices are disconnected. This has saved me unnecessary worrying and the constant need to go up & down the stairs to check on my little one. Note to all parents, please check on your children with your own eyes at times, & don't place any device too near them.
