I want to love it. It is very fluid when scrolling and has ok item recognition but nothing like google photos. Biggest complaint is how long it takes to auto-upload images and videos from our phones. It can take days and it's random. Edit: found that it was a setting I thought I had already selected that allows the app to run as background process. Now it uploads so fast that if I take a picture and don't like it, it's already uploaded to my NAS before I can delete it! Edited

Replacing QPhoto, but losing a lot of its usefulness, the app is not really fit for purpose. I now have to tag photos to group them properly and even then QMagie sometimes associates the wrong image with the tagged file. All in all, an utter shambles that needs to be rebuilt with the user in mind and at least tested for proper functionality that works. What a sorry embarrassment of an app that didn't need to be built.

Missing some key features: 1. No skip ahead 10 second button/double tap feature. 2. The website has sort by option but the phone app doesn't. November 30th still no e of the features above, now a huge issue, when switching from landscape to portrait, it has to log you back in. Every time that happens it takes you to the beginning of your photos. Very frustrating app. Edited

Such a missed opportunity. Setting up auto backup is a pain in the butt where you just say hey auto upload and hope that it will do it at some point. Once set up, it tries to back it up but fails with a vague and unhelpful error message like "Uploading failed! Waiting to retry". Even tried to go into system logs on the NAS and there's nothing useful in there. Really wish I could enjoy this but looks like I'll probably end up going with Google storage after all.

I replaced my ASUSTOR NAS with the QNAP TS-233. I've had a few minor issues, but overall, I love it. The face/object/etc. recognition is way better than I thought it would be. Very close to Google Photos' accuracy. The interface is polished and snappy. Scrolling and searching is really fast compared to the ASUSTOR photo app. Background processing is faster and provides more details (what it's doing, how many more to go, etc.). Features are designed better and feel higher quality.
