Some clues are in my range, maybe a bit difficult but can be worked out with a little time. Some are harder but have a really good clue, and I have learned something for the next time I encounter one like it. There are a few that I don't think I would have ever solved (for example, because the answer is a British turn of phrase). All said, this is a great bargain. I used to pay this price for one magazine with only one or two Cryptics. It's great to have so many here in my phone.

This is a great app for learning to do cryptics. It has a lot of tips to get started and explanations for clues and their answers. The interface is functional, maybe a tad clunky. I would love it if there was a new tier of cryptics added with tougher clues. Some newspapers cryptics seem impossible compared to this apps.

This is a laid-back, no pressure crossword app with no timers or penalties if you request a hint. As a newbie to cryptic crosswords I like that when I need a hint I can choose to reveal either a letter or the full word. Having completed all of the free puzzles on the lite version of this app I was more than happy to pay the small price for the full version of c260 puzzles. The app is fast, smooth, and reliable. Wonderful puzzles! Some vague answers here & there, but it's the same with the cryptics in the Sydney Morning Herald too (especially DA's!). I was going to say that it'd be great for a few things to be changed, like not skipping filled squares (eg), then I checked the settings & found so many options, including whether or not to skip filled squares! I really can't think of anything wrong! The puzzles are a little easier than in the SMH, so they give my brain a little rest in between doing those.

Lovely way into learning cryptic crosswords, clues are mostly pretty good (some slightly dodgy ones and a lot of clues the same sort of style) and you can check as you go if you want. Edit: Most of the way through now. starting to get a lot of repeated clues in later puzzles, so one star off, but still okay overall. Edited
