Was going to rate low, but tried it & honestly can not rate lower than 3 or 4*. If you have the money, this app looks worth it! Beautiful strokes! Perfect for calligraphy & ink painting, especially kanji & sumi-e, they even have the washi paper +others to go with it! Major problem though are the water marks, no undo & virtually everything behind a pay wall. If you already have ads, allow for more to be utilized by free users. Also allow for red +others, as it would go wonderfully with the black.

This is one of the best apps out there. The form factor where it should be used is a Tablet and a very good stylus (iPad and Apple Pencil 2 is ideal) Some people have given low ratings for 'not having more colours.' This app is for Japanese (East Asian) calligraphy which uses only a brush, paper and black ink (red ink is used for corrections). What you are using is the full app; the small screens, poor styluses of Android are the issues, and of course, a lack of understanding of the app Edited

This is a good app, BUT if you like it, DON'T UPGRADE. I am pretty pissed off to find out, 10 minutes after upgrading, that I could have simply bought Zen Brush 3 for a couple of dollars more instead, and would have if I was offered the option when I clicked on Upgrade in the first place.

I purchased both the Android and iOS for iPad versions. I used the Android version to create the orthographic representation of a conlang (constructed language) I created, while the iPad versions was used to create several sumi-e calligraphic paintings which I printed, framed, and gifted. I liked this app and even find it cathartic.

Make beautiful graphics with this realistic form of drawing/writing! It's very brilliant with all the right controls to help you make great works of art in black and white and grey. Love this app, just wish it was free. Very easy to use. Brings out your creativity in a simple elegance. Highly recommended.
