I really enjoy Mastodon. I guess many people had issues setting up an account, but my experience was it was quick and simple. The only confusion for me was about servers, I didn't know how to go about selecting a server and which was appropriate. That was confusing and why I didn't give 5 stars. Once on, I've enjoyed the communities and have found some of my fav social media people, even those on different servers. No advertising which is FABULOUS!

If you already have an account, it can be confusing to get started. Select log-in, and then when asked to pick a community, you want to enter your existing server (ex.: Dice.camp). You can then log in. Don't select a random server! Mastodon needs to be more clear on their language. I prefer the desktop app, but it's nice to have this on my phone so I can check notifs or browse. Looking forward to continued updates. Edited

Great Mastodon client. This gets regular updates and feature adds. It is open source and has no ads or app tracking. I feel the power of Mastodon is hashtags. Set these up online for your sports teams and hobbies. Add to your lists or main fees then consume in the mobile app. The app remembers your place or last read and one can later scroll up for more content. A reverse move from the typical scroll down motion. Edited

Great platform 1 suggestion, when I open following, it would be nice to alphabetize them so in case I accidentally follow a booster bot, I can find them and unfollow. Or some other method. When I click the boosted post, I see no link to the booster to do so, and as followed seem to be in the order they were selected, it's hard to undo an old mistake.

Mastodon is very easy to use and the posting character limit of 1000 is incredibly handy - it allows you to express/explain yourself in a way that similar platforms do not. A wide variety of topics, opinions and views are available to anyone and everyone from every walk of life. Just like any other social media platform, it can be as positive or negative as you make it. If you intentionally go into a topic that is the opposite of yours, expect others to disagree with you. You get what you give.
