I don't use this app often but when I need it I really hate it. Why isn't there an option to switch it to a light mode? That dark theme is very difficult to see anything on the map. You can't really see roads, boundaries, parks... absolutely nothing. I have to increase the brightness to the max to see anything. This is ridiculous. Edited

App has gone downhill. Too much pressure to subscribe, and free features don't work reliably enough to instill confidence that premium would be any better. Location doesn't update consistently. Keeps giving alerts for things nowhere near where I am. When I open the app, I have to get through ads to subscribe and then can't find current, nearby incidents very easily. Edited

It's not a bad app. The idea is great. However, I find the alerts hit or miss. Sometimes I get relevant alerts near me but sometimes I get none at all only to find out from a neighbor that something happened. The big issue, and while not the fault of the app, is that police and fire departments all over the nation are encrypting thier radios. When this happens there is nothing that anyone can do to listen to them, and hense, send accurate and timely alerts.

Overall, it is a disappointing app. News is very poorly delivered and often has zero to do with the users' immediate area. It's actually hard to tell if the alerts that pop up are even managed at all. We tried the premium paid service, hoping that a better version was hidden behind a pay wall, but that was an even bigger letdown. Very poor app. Great concept with terrible execution. Do not recommend it.

This app was useful in the early days, now without paying for an expensive subscription you can't see 90% of it. Even after paying to get the monthly subscription it is still not user friendly, things are hard to find, theres no setting for the area you want alerts. Improve your app, get back to basics and than the subscription might be worth it Edited
