App has a decent design and in theory could work well to deliver on what it's intended to do, but the execution is very flawed. This app is more unstable than any other news app I've ever used on Android. Expect frequent crashes and blank pages when trying to load from notifications. There are constant hangups trying to load videos, and when watching a live feed doing things like rotating the phone or taking screenshots will disconnect from the stream. This app has potential, but it needs work.

I would say that 70% of the time I am not able to watch the news videos due to long periods of "buffering" followed by an error msg. stating "the abc7 app is not responding". This is so frustrating and has happened ever since I downloaded the app well over a year ago. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a couple times which does nothing. Probably going to uninstall and stick with Kron 4 app.

The weather video doesn't load properly after the ad. Don't you have enough ads on the site for you to not have to ruin the weather video? I keep having to see the same ad several times in order for the video to finally load...sometimes. and having to watch an ad (usually the same one lasting 30s for each and every story is frustrating. you're tipping the scale on benefits vs burden in the wrong direction. this is just as much an app for ads as it is for useful content.

I like the fact that notifications take you directly to the related story instead of the front page over and over. Menu is useful, and content is great. Updated 12/7/2020: This used to be a great app. However, now I can no longer access stories directly from a notification; now it hangs with a blank page. In addition, the app will not close using the Close All button. It's open all of the time, even after a forced stop. What happened? PLEASE fix this!

Update 1/21/24. I uninstalled the app. I got tired of being fed 'related' items, especially rehashing old, sometimes very old, events. Also, there's not enough conversation about positive events. Previously: I prefer the prior version of the app over the new format. Also, for a long time I have not liked any videos automatically playing, whether news items or advertising. Give us a choice. Finally, showing videos of content which is unrelated to the news item is bothersome. Thanks. Edited
