Oh this is really nifty. I've played RAR 2, and this one has an increased emphasis on exploration and crafting. I've played a couple hours and so far there is no combat. Your main goal is to build and upgrade new villages. You still discover new islands and explore them. The layout is different. You have immediate access to any areas that you've discovered on an island. There's lots of hunting and gathering to accomplish. It's very easy so far -- I see no way to lose (yet!). Recommended.

Loving this game so far! The interface is easy enough to figure out, the little graphical flourishes really distinguish this game from similar titles, the rewards for overly strategic gameplay seem to be primarily time-savers and aren't required to progress, and it's obvious that a lot of love went into the various systems. Looking forward to seeing what gets added in future, and am stoked to have something so mellow yet deep to enjoy in my downtime. You're my hero, Luis! Edited

Good but needs a hardcore mode with actual death. So far I haven't felt the need to cook or prepare anything at all. Also experienced a glitch where a village I built in the starting location didn't ever spawn. it was listed with no name when being viewed from the info panel/sail towards destination panel. No quests pending in that location, and had success building more on other islands

Best resource management game on mobile by far. I love the retro graphics and I am addicted. and I love that the dev made me pay up from rather than doing ads or micro transactions. 10/10, I will try this devs other games after I am finished with this one. Only thing I would request is to be able to play the same savefile on my phone and on PC. Idk if that is possible though. Edited

I absolutely love this game! It is a relaxing game you can pick up anytime. There is never any ads or in-app purchases. Developer is engaged with the community and frequently pushing out updates. Once you've completed the main storyline there is an optional prestige mechanic as well. Also, if you are familiar with the other RAR games, RAR Islands has lots of lore for the RAR universe. Thanks Archison for another gem of a game!!!
