I have no idea how they offer this for free, but this app is everything our restaurant has been looking for. It runs on any iOS or Android device, so our staff can all use their own phones to add customers to the wait list without having to return to a central shared tabled. Everything syncs between devices (all logged in to same user account), so everybody is on the same page. We're super busy and don't have a dedicated host station, so this solution is perfect for our use case. The app itself is well designed and super intuitive. Adding names is simple and fast, and you have the option of including a lot of granular additional information if you wish. Have a customer who wants to dine on the patio, with a baby that needs a high chair and a dog? Just hit a couple of icons and your bussers know exactly where to take the party and how to set the table up for them. Notifying customers is easy and there's surprisingly no charge for sending texts. When the customer is added to the list it sends out a text with the quoted wait time. When a table opens up, you hit the notify button and it fires off another text asking them to come in the door. It's neat how customers can communicate with the restaurant via text if they want to cancel or they're a few more minutes away or they want to make edits to their party composition. There are a couple of minor UI issues (mainly notification alerts covering up navigation elements on Android), but nothing deal-breaking. It also takes a few seconds for the list to update after you've cleared names off the list, but that's not a big deal since it's probably communicating with the cloud. We haven't had a chance to try out the reservation and table management modules, but it's crazy that those are also included. Our restaurant has used the Waitlist.me app, the Yelp waitlist app, and Carbonara blows both of those out of the water and it's FREE. I'm not sure what the catch is, if there even is one... but so far so good for us. We really couldn't be happier with it.

I use this app for it's waitlist function and it is extremely simple and easy to use as well as customizable. It supports multiple languages as well and your client's can be advised in their native language.
