This game is designed for the computer to abuse passing. once ahead by a point, passing becomes a programmed priority that makes the game not worth playing. the computer deserves to lose the same way as a player, including decimated by error in programming. I would value this more than one star if they took away/lowered the 60 minute pay wall, unfair computer tactics, and increased the lessons for free people. having bought this on three devices for at home games, I hoped for more development. Hi Christian - The Go AI is designed to act like a human player. They will pass if the game has clearly been decided, at which point it is probably best to also pass and move to the scoring phase. We are happy to check a game record to check for bugs; you can forward an SGF to us at
[email protected].

When trying to play online, it only gives two ways to login, Google account or Facebook account. Whent trying to login using my Facebook account, the app freezes and I'm unable to proceed further. Edit: Apologies, somehow I failed to realize I could change the AI opponent to a harder one. Maybe adding a strength next to the name when starting a match might help make this more apparent. That said, I am kind of sad I didn't catch that myself first. Thanks for informing me of it though developer! Edited

Thanks for the review, we appreciate the feedback! If the AI resigns early, then you're probably getting stronger and should try a harder AI :). We will consider adding an "AI never resigns" option to help though. And I will ask the team to check into the Facebook sign-in problem.

Good for experienced players or players better than novices, but for beginner's who've never played before, the first AI is way too hard. It capitalizes whenever I make mistakes and seems to create strategies that are long winded. So when you feel as if you've finally gotten close to beating it, it makes one move that captures 16 pieces, leaving you back in the dust. I'd understand if it was a rare moment for the AI, but this happens every game. It never tells you what you did wrong. Not good.

Thank you, we appreciate the feedback! Some tips for beginner play: try to rank up a bit with Puzzles before attempting full-board games; the skills transfer over. Make sure to select Bobby, the weakest AI. And check YouTube for more tutorials - Jonathan Hop's channel has some great videos for beginner players.

I already recommended this to a friend. Between lessons and puzzles, learning is straight forward. AI, friend, and online play are options for the player. The music is cheerful to boot! There are somethings locked behind pay walls, which is a little lame, but most of it is cosmetics, and what isn't doesn't heavily impact the core mechanics.

Edited: it ends up there is no bug but my mistake. The support team respond to my problem pretty fast (within 15 mins), and is currently investigating my issue. For unknown reasons the puzzles I unlocked with study keys do not go into permanent collection anymore after I unlocked around 18 puzzles. So I wasted my study keys on puzzles that I cannot go back to review in future. Otherwise, the lessons are a good start for go beginner, and you have variety of different levels of AI to practice.
