I paid for the ad free version, so why would they give me 2 ads as a "reward/prize" for reaching 100 points? This is absurd. Getting ads as a reward would be absurd in normal times but when I pay for an ad free app, it's insane. I have to close the app to avoid the ads. I can't just close the ads out. I saw a reply to a review that these ads are for hints, but it's still frustrating to have to stop for the ads. At least ask us if we want the feature for hints, otherwise it's just annoyiny

I purchased the ad-free version of this game for $2.99 but unfortunately the "hint" button is animated & won't stop bouncing until you click on it, which brings it to... You guessed it! ADS. Sneaky! They've also switched the grays so that light gray is for used squares & dark gray for those remaining. This is opposite the NYT version & confusing for the brain bc it doesn't make sense visually. Would give 4 stars if not for these issues as the interface is clean, simple, & intuitive--plus stats!

Hi Haili J! Now after you have paid for the No Ads feature, no ads except for rewarded videos (videos that will reward you hint after fully watched) are sent to you. For players who do not need extra hints, they can choose to purchase any hints pack and all videos will be removed. Thanks for your time and have a wonderful day!

I've never seen game ads where you have to click THREE buttons, with timers between them, to move on. They show up after every game. The app also pesters you with reminders that you can pay to get rid of the ads--we know, you've made them as annoying and disruptive as possible on purpose. Sometimes I pay to remove ads. Frequently I buy games which don't have ads at all. Today is not one of those days, because this is manipulative and I hit uninstall.

Just started playing last week and I love this game. I love how there's no timer so you can go at your own pace and how you can put the letters in the blocks without needing to press "submit" when in thinking mode. Many users talk about a "word of the day", but I don't see that. I've been able to play more than once in a day and it's different words for each level. I don't seem to have the option of a "daily challenge". However, I'm happy with this version!

Would be five stars, but sometimes gives ads after every game for long streaks, the ad every 2-3 games is a good rate. Would be 4 stars, but it gave me the word window, which according to experts is six letters, in a five letter game. That would drop it to 1 star if this wasn't an isolated incident (so far) and this weren't the best version of the game I've found.
