First EV road trip this week! I had a wonderful charging experience. Pulled up, plugged in, opened the app, initiated charging, so easy. That was at a Tesla Supercharger. I also charged at three EA stations on this road trip. What a disaster! I had troubles initiating charging at all three stations. App and credit card were unreliable. Somehow got CC to work at two stations, and app worked at the third after multiple attempts. Why has EA made this so complicated? So many failure points!

Nearly every time I try to charge, something is ALWAYS broken requiring a phone call to support. Yesterday, the app refused to use the same credit card that has been linked with my account for years. I called customer support and they blamed my bank. I called my bank and they said there's nothing wrong with my card, but that EA thinks I have an invalid expiration date. I haven't changed ANYTHING in my EA account, and somehow randomly, my CC info is bad? I checked, the info in the app is CORRECT. Edited

Appears the back end functionality has been fixed, and you're now able to log in and use the app. But the prompt to create a passkey has now disappeared. Hopefully it will be reliable now. Edited

This review is purely based on the app and the way it's run, as the chargers themselves are usually pretty reliable near me. The only method to pay for a charge with EA is via pre-payment. This would not be an issue, except it forces you to auto-reload when your balance drops below $5. If, for whatever reason, your preset reload amount can't be deducted from your payment method, the charging station will cut off the charge even if you still have funds in your balance.

I'm using the Android version of the app on a Pixel 7. Not enough space to describe all the problems. instructions are to plug in first, but if you do your particular charger switches to "in use" unless you choose it within seconds of having started the charge. if your credit card's expired it will make it look like the charge has started and then you get charged idle fees for 20 minutes before you get a text that says you're being charged idle fees support can't refund. Got to start over 🤬
