Sample questions looked promising so signed up for subscription but still won't let me into the content. Paid £7.99 for my first month and can't even access the baseline assessment just keeps telling me to start a free trial and can't access any learning. Update: Contacted the developer/support who were very quick to respond and support via email, even over Christmas holiday period - impressed thanks. Upgraded to 4 star. Will revisit review and regrade once more experience in app use. Edited

My daughter loves all four of the Doodle apps, but Doodle Spell has been a bit disappointing since the update. In particular, the section where they have to trace words is very glitchy. We've tried it on my mobile and laptop, but it's still the same. It's very frustrating for her and it upsets her as it affects her accuracy. It would be great if this could be looked into!

The automatic voice is terrible. I can't distinguish certain words, never mind my child. We completed a spelling assessment beforehand and it ignored it, giving him beginner words and making him fill them in five times over to try and get new ones - we gave up in the end. What a way to kill off the desire to learn. Glad I'm still in the 7 day free period, it's not worth a subscription.

Awful, we use Doddle Maths and English every day which are great but the spelling app is terrible. The spellings are far too difficult but there's no way to lower the level even if you keep getting them wrong it just saves them to tricky words then makes you retry every time you log on, my daughter just got so stressed & upset with it. Trying to find something else for her now.

This app used to work really well prior to the summer upgrade. I have installed and uninstalled many times on different devices on the android platform since. As this works perfectly on the apple device I can only assume there is a technical error that still needs to be fixed... So if you can use this on apple, great, if you can't, the intense frustration will undo any good that this really quite effective app would have achieved.
