I give a low rating due to having to sign in each time I access this app. But today a banner ad has been placed over the screen restricting access to articles & no way to log in without resubscribing. I have made a complaint to the app developer about these issues today (3/22/21). I will change rating if these problems are resolved. However it appears as this is a long standing issue without concern from app development. On the plus side, I like & enjoy reading the articles that are available.

I am frustrated by having to go through several screens many times everyday to read the paper. Every time I get a call, text or email I have to start all over to read the paper. This wastes a lot of time.

News is fine, just not always current and up to the, hour at least. July 24, 2020: same oldness of news, 10hours, 24 hours,etc. Hardly news then. 2025 update I have an abbreviated subscription, I get 8 free items. Of those today, just one is news news, 7 are local sports, just sports, not otherwise news. Not hardly worth a full suscription.

The new app will not let me or my husband sign in, even though we are 7 day a week digital subscribers. The keyboard does not pop up when trying to enter an email address or password. I've reported it to lsj online support, and they have no fix. They said to check with Samsung to see if it's my phone. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S23, my husband has a new Kindle Fire. No access except on our PC. Wifi works fine. Will cancel if it isn't resolved.

In general I like the app but it has a bug. Whenever I click on a notification the app does not open to take me to the article. I have to open it manually and find the article. This happens with another Gannett subscription app I have for the Port Huron Times Herald.
