Searching is a nightmare. Trying to search for something is one of the worst experiences. If you search for a message, it'll find it, you tap the search result and you're presented with one or maybe two messages surrounding the message you searched for, instead of just taking you to the message in the thread. You can not see any more of discussion/thread!! It's idiotic. Super frustrating coming from a Search Giant.

love that no matter how long it's been in between using the app, you are able to hold onto your number- vs other apps that recycle your number after "x" amount of time without using. I also like that it can be set up to ring thru to my regular sim card number, or even multiple numbers consecutively. It's also nice to have the "visual voicemail" option, or have messages forwarded through to your email address.

The app works but lacks a ton of functionality. It’s a little long in the tooth and I'm surprised Google hasn't updated any of the features to be competitive with other messaging platforms. No message scheduling, extremely limited GIF sizes, no read receipts, no reaction emojis, and overall very clunky to use. It's fine for what it is but it desperately needs a refresh.

I've been using Google voice as my primary messaging and dialing app for as long as I can remember. It has a few issues, such as the lack of RCS messaging support. Which is quite peculiar all things considered. Searching in messages is also quite unuseful. You can search for a term and get results, but you are unable to jump to that point of a conversation for further review. Lack of RCS messaging may end up being the reason I dump Google voice and port my number over to a carrier Edited

All of a sudden I don't have the option to change the ringtone and the stock one being used is barely audible or distinguishable if attention is elsewhere. Very annoyed! Update: I had tried the method contained in the link prior to submitting a review. The link provided by the developer with steps to take no longer works to set the ringtone. "Incoming Call Notifications" is not listed under Calls on my Galaxy S22 Android 14. Edited
