The basic structure and main loop of the game is appealing, but there are some critical misses. Having enemies act every time the party acts is the biggest issue. It renders many types of groups and strategies pointless. For example, healing is mostly useless as it will always be followed by an attack that cancels its effects. Buffs and debuffs are *usually* useless compared to taking a direct action. Maybe if combat was better balanced.

This game is great! Turn based RPG with a deliciously twisted sense of humor. Great for killing time, great for game time! I'm being asked questions under the box I'm typing in, so here's some answers I dont recall needing internet for anything other than install. The game is not visually beautiful but it is aesthetically breathtaking, especially if one remembers monochrome text games. I've never seen any online pvp arena, but I've never been bored enough to look, also true for a store... Edited

If the developer is reading this, I hope you'll update the mobile version to fix some bugs. There are three and it feels uncomfortable: 1. The background music and sound effects volume is lowered so hard (can barely hear it) 2. My party can switch their position during the 1.362 update but in 1.450 it doesn't work 3. Loot Shields' def stat are always at "+0". Pleeease these problems really have to be settled it's ruining the gameplay much :3 Edited

A gem amongst games. Note that dying is very much part of the game. The RNG can be cruel, but rarely have I found it impossible to deal with. The refrences scattered in the game made me smile. It can be played without connecting to the internet. A big win combined with the pixel art style. (I will admit now that I am biased in favor of classic pixel art, having grown up with games such as Monkey Island and Kings Quest.) It is challanging, yet you can by pass the RNG if you pay attention. Made much easier as you play, lose, and learn the dungeons. (Online guides help also if you are so inclined.) Bottom line however is death is going to happen. Don't get attached. The replay value lies in pushing your limits and testing new combinations. Since the flow of the game is the same on all three levels of difficulty, you may not enjoy the game if you require the game itself to provide the variations. My only gripe of worth is the annoyance of the auto orientation. Makes it tricky to play while laying down if the game auto adjusts to a portrait view rather then landscape view. Edited

I finally got it after missing the February sale on it and it was a great gem of a game reminding me of the 80s when I grew up to pixel games. It was one of those games known to go back on sale so I just waited versus paying full price. So far a fun game. As others said, strategy seems to fail this game which has too much roll the dice and hope for the best with many saying they died so often they grew tired of dying all the time and quit playing. Found the background music annoying. Edited
