There are few easily accessible WW1 games out there, yet this one hits the mark very well, capturing the feel of different campaigns and settings with the backdrop of dogged slaughter that defined the Great War in historical reality. I only wish for a few little touches as updates: different music for the victories of the Entente versus the Central Powers, for instance, recognition of the German superiority on artillery for much of the war, and inclusion of U-boats to counter naval warships.

A game that you pay for once and play. I greatly appreciate that. I don't appreciate the in-game victory points mechanism. I don't remember seeing that before, but it sucks. It forces you to go straight for arbitrary, meaningless objectives to gain "points" rather than actual, strategic objectives like high ground, river fords, or features that offer cover (buildings, forests, etc.). There's no way to turn it off unless you fight to the death, which also isn't realistic. 5 stars otherwise.

Thanks for the review! I am always experimenting with new victory conditions. If you have any thoughts on what could be better then please feel free to let me know! 🙂

It's the best mobile turn-based strategy I've played in quite a while! Aesthetically, many of the maps are far too green. If possible, it would be nice if the land tiles were less verdant, or degraded with conflict or bombardment. It would also be good if trees could be reduced by artillery, as was a common sight on WWI battlefields. EDIT: I appreciate the reply! Just noticed that it's only 28 MB. Impressive! Edited

Thank you. Very nice idea. I do intend to work on that in the future.

Now this is a great, ww1 themed strategy game. It's not only realistic in terms of morale, soldier types, difficulty, an abundance of in depth playstyles and more, but also has clean, simple 8-bit graphics. Nice music too. Ps: It could use the functionality of combining of units to make bigger units, with the downside of the chance of disorienting units. Just an idea. Edited

Great game, glad they made it free so I could get a taste of their games, it's worth 3 bucks, for sure- the game's only real drawback is a mild lack of variety, it sits at "just enough." Units essentially consist of 11 types, but you have 30~40 options (depending on whether you are the entente or the Germans+allies). That said, there are a decent number of maps, and gameplay is good, and the air support system is fantastic. I have a few suggestions, but I won't talk about that here. 4.5 Stars!
