Backing up to external storage (a flash drive using the included G2G adapter) seems to be fixed. Before after making the back up it would say there was a error with it and it couldn't be used for restoring. That seems to have been fixed at some point. I can now create a backup to a flash drive with no error message. Still haven't tried reseting and using the restore function, but thank you for fixing that error. I like having a local backup (came from Samsung so used Smart Switch for that). Edited

Wow. What an absolutely garbage application. While this synced media, messages and apps just fine, it did not sync ANY application data. I had to setup every single app from scratch. What is the point of this app if it fails at automating the most time-consuming part of the migration process? Probably will never buy another OnePlus device in the future just because of this.

When I first did the transfer relying on Google alone many things got transferred like apps and photos but many things were different. I have 300+ apps installed and on the old phone were organized in a meaningful way. On the new phone they were not organized at all. I couldn't find anything. Also many passwords went missing. It was a nightmare that would take me weeks to clean up. Then I discovered Clone phone. I had it installed on the old phone as well. It synced everything perfectly. OP9->12 Edited

Took ten tries to get side by side phone to connect. Then the app just sits and spins without ever transferring anything. Restarted multiple times with same result. I was attempting to send data from my old android to my new OnePlus. The T-Mobile rep had the same experience. Update: I have since tried with narrowing down what is being sent to just one item (e.g., video) and have gotten that to work. App data doesn't work at all. Tried multiple times to send contact data. My old phone says it's sent, my new phone doesn't have it. Note to the developers: having to scan a barcode twice to get the transfer started is really confusing. It looks like you're starting the app over again, which leads to frustration. The barcode network connection never worked for me; I had to manually go to my old phone's wifi and connect to the new phone's hotspot network that way. Overall, still a poor intro to the OnePlus, which is a nice phone. Edited

Dear user: Thanks to your letter. Only the OnePlus smartphone can receive data and other Android devices just send data. You need to connect your old phone with OnePlus before you start to do the transfer. Could you please send us your screenshots by email? We will help you to solve this problem. Thank you :)

Fast bluetooth transfer. If you're thinking of deleting some unwanted pictures and videos, doing it prior to transfer is advisable. It will be faster, reduce the amount of heat produced during transfer, and it will insure that the files you DO save will be stored and accessed most efficiently. (If you delete files (on the new phone) after transferring them, the new phone will have fragmented storage.
