Definitely impressed with the game as a whole, I'm most intrigued by the levels and how equipment is improved with every one!! Only dissatisfaction I can say I have is the view of the camera, as a developer I understand the scripting and computer code can be tedious and difficult but it would be a great update if it was level with the lure and a depth meter as well for sinking lures. Other than that, I would strongly suggest everyone to give it a try!! you'll be pleased if you love fishing games

Thanks for your feedback! I'm working on a full-3D fishing game that will have a lot in common with BTC, but with more camera views. That will require a fairly powerful device to run. For BTC I wanted to make the experience available for as many devices as possible, and I hadn't seen a good top-down fishing game in a long time.

Kept it simple, it excels that way. Old school graphics will turn some off, but its addictive and keeps me fishing when i cant in the real world. Same with the differant lures and rods/reels, and boats, much cheaper buying new in the game than real life haha. Their flyfishing game is basically perfect, this game is quite differant obviously, however only reason i didnt give 5 stars is i wish they had added pictures of real fish whenever you catch one, just like in the flyfishing game.

Great game overall. I do have a few suggestions though. I agree with the previous requests of adding other species & challenges if possible. Also, being able to sell old equipment and lures would be a plus since they're rarely used after advancing levels. As far as reviews complaining about having to pay in order to advance... some people expect everything for free. Many others however have no problem paying a very reasonable price to play a game that's ad free and enjoyable.

Awesome game, has a lot of potential. My only complaint so far is the line tension mechanic, I'm on level 3 and it took my about 3 minutes to reel in a 19 inch fish. I bought better rods and lures and it doesnt help much. I'd love to have it a little more balanced so it doesn't take that long to get one fish in the boat. Other than that the game is great and I am having fun playing it.

Thanks for your review! At level 3 there's a wide range of line strength on the available rods. If you've got a rod with only 6 or 8 pound test, a chunky 19 inch bass could be a pretty tough fight. The other rod specs (casting range, action, etc) can be important, but I think it pays to prioritize line test to land fish fast.

Great game until you get ready to hit level 5 and then you are forced to either pay to upgrade from level 4 or downgrade to level 3 and sell your gear for half the value. Don't waste your time with thinking you can just stay at level 4, you can't... I'd rather see a short ad or two every once in a while then be held at gunpoint to upgrade or lose progress and items so I uninstalled the game. Edited

You can stay at level 4 if you want to. The Levels screen (where you have the option to advance to level 5 or go back to level 3) also has a "back" button in the upper right, like many other screens in the game. Tapping "back" takes you back to the main menu without changing your level.
