It WAS great! I paid for this app years ago and now greed has ruined a great app. As a user who paid for the pro version, I supported and recommended this app, I am disappointed they chose the subscription model. I may have even paid an additional fee to extend my ad-free experience. I hope everyone decides to delete this app and this company goes bankrupt.

i've used this app for many years, I really liked it so I paid for pro. However, the recent update ruined it. The sponsored podcasts were kind of annoying, but I dealt with it. But the constant full page "please subscribe" ad and the permanent banner add at the bottom of the screen is unacceptable to me. The developer managed to find the most irritating way to implement adds. EDIT: I wanted to recommend AntennaPod, its free and open source, no ads and very functional. Works with galaxy watch too Edited

Truly disappointing. Like many others, I purchased this app 10 or so years ago under a lifetime model, wherein advertisements would not be displayed. This, apparently, has unilaterally ended. It is clear that Maple believes that, having purchased this app and "stepped into the shoes" of the former developer, they are empowered to take away something for which has been bought and paid. Well, this sucks. I've been using the paid version for years. I can ignore the occasional pop-up suggesting other podcasts, but like so many others, I have to draw the line at banner ads on an app that I spent money on for NO ads! I can't tell you how utterly disappointed I am with this. Time to switch to something else. I've heard good things about Antennapod. Edited

I've been a user of this app for over a decade because I appreciate the simple and clean interface. I had even decided to "upgrade" to the pro version to support the developer and to remove ads but now ads are back and the only way to get rid of them is to pay for a subscription? Why even keep the pro in the name when it no longer has the feature (no ads) that it was originally marketed with. I am now looking for a different podcasting app for daily use.
