Beacon is an excellent game launcher but it has some pretty glaring bugs. I want to give it credit and say I really the UI and that it does a good job of looking and feeling modern. My main gripe is that it black screens when launching games via Retroarch if you do it too quickly between games. You need to wait a few minutes or clear the app cache for games to launch again correctly. If that was fixed I would give it 5 stars. Edited

Force close RetroArch before starting another game.

My main launcher !! if there's anything I could add, it would be to allow the wallpapers to appear after a brief second, like at most 1 full second after hovering over a game. while scrolling through them, the wave background can be there as default. another cool feature would be allowing us to add an audio track or video that plays when hovering over a game for over a second. think of how the PSP did this in the xmb menu! maybe have the rest of the library vanish when a game is in focus. Great experience on Retroid Pocket 5 with one complaint. The background menu music continues when going to the home menu, instead of restarting from the beginning like it would on any other console. it makes the experience seem a bit chintzy, but almost every other aspect of this app is well-designed. Hoping to see an option to change the behavior of the menu music in a future update!

Very clean and sleek. Organizes everything neatly into a museum-esque set-up without giving me a whole bunch of info/metadata I don't need. My only complaint is that I can't use separate view modes for different platforms. Want to use Bubbles for Android apps and List for everything else, but that is unfortunately not an option. Lacking in an option to add music to the frontend but that was easily solved with Tasker. Fully intend to keep using this because it is relatively simple to customize.

So I want to say that I really want to like this front end.I've been told how simple, minimal, and light weight it is, and it was true... mostly. I ran into trouble launching a few platforms, and after some research, I found I had to make a custom path to correctly launch, which i'm personally not too savvy in. So, if you're an advanced user, this could be decent, but for me, not so much. This app has a lot of potential, so I guess I'll keep it around.

Launching games should work 99% of the time. Making custom launch commands is an advanced feature only required when things don't work by default. Can you share with me on the Discord what emulators did not work for you by default and what commands fixed it? I want to make them work out of the box if it's not something specific to your device only
