The amount of effort put by the two owners into the art, user interface, and quality of life for users is stellar and has contributed to so many people including myself developing a love for learning language. I have been using this app for a few months now. I have found this to be by far the best app for learning, and I really appreciate how customizable it is to what I want to focus on. It is so easy to look up a word or kanji in the dictionary without interrupting your quizzing. I cannot express how much I recommend this app to anyone learning Japanese. I do prefer WaniKani for focusing on kanji as it feels simpler, but renshuu does a good job quizzing and building on those blocks to reinforce it.

Okay, I love it! There's lovely games to play and learn and you have access to a lot of info any time you want. The course is also very flexible. You don't have to go through a definite course but learn what you want. Plus the app is really cute! 🥰 This app has managed to keep me engaged without bugging me with notifications or through things like daily streak or the weekly leagues (those are there in Duolingo, np if you like them but to me they just make users unnecessarily competitive).

I have spent a while on Duolingo, contemplating whether to spend money to improve my learning experience. Not only is this app far superior in knowledge, community, resources, and learning techniques. But it's basically completely free, and even so the pro version has a far better price scale and even a lifetime one time fee. I highly recommend it if you are a broke college student like me, who wants to learn Japanese.

I've been using Renshuu for over a year and it's one of my key apps that I use for learning Japanese. it's highly customizable so I have settings that are perfect for my learning goals. when I'm really busy or struggling with motivation, I can at least do some of my vocab or kanji study really easily and do at least something Japanese every day. highly recommend you give this a try!
