fun 4/5.(card games usually fun). balance 1/5.(most enemies have 4+ buffs and at least 2 debuffs for you doesn't actually make sense 70% of the champions can't play into +3 cost frozen on summon obliterate 6 on a 3rd turn?? beat Isaac dark souls 2etc and still wouldn't try half the task on here again🤣) path of champions 3/5.(fun roguelike with balance issues). grind 1/5.(everything is "free" just not worth the real world time invested you get less for the time you put in compared to tcgs).

I had this as a 5 Star review for years. The day after it gets announced that they're "shifting focus" to a physical TCG, all the sudden there's network and loading issues. Not a great look. It's also turned into a mostly single player affair that demands that you open up your wallet to stand a chance at any of the higher level content, which is garbage. LoR is still a good source of Runeterra lore, but for all other purposes it's basically dead. Probably Riot's biggest bag fumble to date. Edited

broken, very broken, w\ lots of potential if they were to get fix the Op story quests. like the function to kill any of your unit for free each turn, summoning 4-5 powerful units with 2 mana, and so on. up to 2⭐ quests are fun, 3⭐ hit or miss, 4⭐ forget. sometimes I wonder why I come back to this game at all. you're forced to only play op heroes otherwise you have no chance I'm doing most of the 3⭐. ⭐ rating is off. too many broken mechanics. can't pick heroes of specific region via quests, etc Edited

Largely a fantastically fun game, it's feeling quite greedy lately. There's already such an insane amount of grind for the currencies needed to upgrade Path of Champions characters, and the currencies cost a lot to get obtain... but recently they released a daily check in system that you have to pay for and the notification won't go away. However, the card game itself plays so well and I have so much fun that I have allowed myself to support them here and there with money, so... not all bad.

Finally, some good food. All my life I've loved card games, but found online versions lacking (outside of fanmade stuff on Tabletop Simulator.) This game is clearly well loved, well crafted, and well balanced when it comes to the grind. It's fun and challenging without being overly frustrating. I've been enjoying it a lot!
