I've been extremely disappointed in this game. Seems most others notice the concerns with controls, albeit I have a few other issues: 1) The ring menu will essentially save sporadically to one previously used, and you cannot scroll down no matter what menu it's on you have to scroll up 2) The AI for your party is 10x worse than the original. 3) You require Internet connection to play the game .... 🤦♂️ Edited

There are a lot of softlocks. These softlocks make you invulnerable, unable to hit enemies, and enemies like the final boss are unable to be targeted with important sword attacks. I never had the pleasure of finishing this game from my childhood. So, I figured why not buy this version. Well, I made it to the end of the game, but cannot finish, which is disappointing to say the least.

I played this game so much as a child it was an amazing find when I had a long haul flight coming up and needed some entertainment. Imagine my extreme frustration when I opened the game ready to pass the time in nostalgia-ville and I'm presented with a "can't validate purchase of game" error due to me being offline! Game is 100% unusable if it cannot talk to the servers despite essentially the whole game being downloaded locally. Absolutely ridiculous IMO as other Square games work fine. Fix!!!!

Update: I increased the rating because the save system is working but the game has to install in the main storage of your phone even though the game runs just fine on a external sd card but you can't save your game. This is not the best port of the game to play but if you buy it on a sale is okay. If you want a better portable version, there's the collection of mana available on the switch that has the first 3 games in the mana series. SE please port that collection for everything. Edited

Outstanding SoM port & a fantastic snes classic rpg. Runs very smoothly through endgame -no glitches! The onscreen controls worked very comfortably, no need for optional controller. Had a blast with this, couldnt stop playing. Graphics true to snes original but slightly spiffed up, e.g, reflections of passing clouds on the water. GORGEOUS. Very good snes art with layered pixels, made perfect for modern screens. Cheerful & bright style, with many cute details in the art. PLEASE do Seiken Desetsu3
