Great chess problem (puzzle) app! Great graphics! Most chess apps are kinda ugly colors, pieces and unreadable coordinates. Just like it says: no ads, minimalist-design UI and you can even play games against Stockfish or analyze. Turn-off sound-effects: means you can listen to music while you play! Now with Stockfish 17.1, it takes everybody's lunch money! Edited

Entertaining, no adds or purchases. Requires brain power. Some puzzles are a little.... counter intuitive due to the fact that the game ends when you get the pieces to where the game wants them, not necessarily where they would be a better position for your pieces. So it may take a min or so to play around and eventually make an unsatisfactory trade or movement. The point of the puzzles isn't checkmate, but to constantly pursue a check.

Great app! Simple, functional. No garbage. Set it to continue on correct move(s) or to stop. I set it to stop. Let's you analyse or even play the position, so, you can fully understand it. Also keeps an 'elo' score for you. Have no idea why this app seems to be "flying under the radar". If you are serious about improving tactics, get this app. It's free and no ads.....thank you.

This is the BEST CHESS TACTICS app! Why: 1) The ability to analyze a tactic and try any combinations of moves greatly improves the ability to learn from and understand a tactic. There are no restrictions. A recommended move is displayed (& updated as the algorithm runs) You must play for the computer, giving you complete flexibility. 2) When you make a mistake, instead of only "wrong!" you are shown your opponent's counter move. 3) "Alternative move found" functionality for equivalent solutions

Fantastic app! Great functionality. I have it set to stop after each puzzle. Even when I get the puzzle correct, I can play from that position OR and this is BIG, I can go back and play a different move, play a game from that position and discover why a different candidate move would be wrong. For those new to problems, there is an easy mode. Another great freature is you have a setting for spaced repetition on problems you miss. That means they will appear now and then so you can learn them.
