A nice app, but the words are spoken in an accent different than how I speak/typically hear, so I found myself relying on memorization to correctly read how certain words appear with this particular accent. For example, letters like R and O read very differently than I'm used to, so "work" looks identical to "wake" for me. I only made it through most of the consonant/vowel levels, not sure how the others work, but a wider range of words would also be helpful so there's not as much repetition.

Update in reply: This is not the only review that has stated the person has an accent. Again, you have to rely on memory for those lessons. I have the newest device out right now, samsung galaxy s23 ultra, so if there is a compatibility problem it's on your end to update. Doesn't matter anymore I've uninstalled. Pronunciation different in many words so memorization is required which defeats the purpose. Some videos don't load so you have to guess and get it wrong to move to the next video. Edited

Hi, please understand that the key to lip reading is to learn and train your ability to understand the sentences as a whole. It doesn’t make any sense to try to memorise the pronunciation of each word. I tested all the levels before publishing the app so the videos should load almost immediately. This problem could be device-specific. I’m sorry.

Simple, friendly app without obtrusive ads or other dark patterns. The free version already allows for a lot of practice and I find the full version very reasonably priced, especially for something rather niche. I don't even have a disability, I only want to improve my ability to "hear" in loud environments, and I still feel like I very much got my money's worth. Edited

It is very well done and simple to use, free and also no ads every 5 minutes, though I am still at level 4. It is well paced though, I would recommend there be more random options or increase the options to choose the correct answer to make it harder. As I feel I am exercising my memory more than I am reading lips to get the right answer.

Thank you to the creators of the app for responding to my earlier review about the error on level 11. I'm really enjoying this app so far, consonants seem to be easy so far. I have hearing loss and although I lipread to a degree, I've lost my edge since pandemic started and I've worked from home, I look forward to reaching the sentences! Edited

Hi Christiana, many thanks for reporting the bug. I realised that the videos clips for “Daddy” and “Listen” are wrongly trimmed and in the next update I’ll upload the correct video clips and fix a few small bugs. Have fun learning and have a nice weekend.
