This is a really wonderful app, and utilizes an excellent method for learning the constellations and stars, I'm really impressed! I really appreciate that there are no ads, and the free version is perfect. One suggestion: while the lines and illustrations are fantastic for the beginning of my leaning curve, I'd also like an option to learn the constellations without the lines so that I can recognize them in the natural sky. Perhaps this option exists, and I just haven't found it in the app? Edited

Hi Renee, Easy levels show the lines of the constellations; Medium levels hide the lines of the constellations, but show their precise borders and the lines of the surrounding constellations to help the recognition. Hard levels are closest to the real night sky: they only show the approximate location of the objects. I hope that helps. :)

Very good. The "flashcard" tests and repetition/reinforcement is excellent. As a suggestion a new category of navigational stars/constellations would be really helpful to prioritise these for me to use my sextant. I know you are planning custom lists which could this but it would be an extra selling point. Probably not possible but a find named star/constellation quiz (click on map) would be useful Edited

Great. Learning honed to a fine art with spaced repitition and increasing challenges. Beware that it's really easy and fun right up until you're asked to pay to proceed, and then there's a huge jump in difficulty. It would benefit from a few more levels inserted around that point (and at later points, in general). Still, it had me hooked enough that I kept going and figured it out. Recommended :) As a minor criticism (for the devs): although you can ADD hints, toggling hints would help more. Edited

Hi Lee, you felt a jump in difficulty probably because you went from the Easy mode to the Medium mode. In the app you can choose to learn constellations, brightest stars and deep sky objects of the north sky, sky equator & south sky in 3 modes (Easy, Medium, Hard). Instead of going from north sky to sky equator, some users went from Easy to Medium.

*EDIT* after studying more apps and actually physically comparing, you're right. I honestly should have done this before my review. Thank you for your response, I will be purchasing a soon as I can!*EDIT#2* now that I've purchased it, I absolutely love it. After you learn some constellations, it challenges you to learn the constellations WITHOUT the pictures and the outlines! Absolutely the best way to learn the constellations. I am very happy with it 😊 Edited

Hi Ryan, with the free version you can learn ALL the constellations and stars (please note you can choose sky regions). As for the constellations, it depends on how each author draws the lines between the stars and the illustrations can be very different from one app to another. I studied astronomy and can assure you the knowledge is 100% correct.

I've always wanted to learn the constellations but never known how to go about it. This is very efficient and even relaxing. I do wish it would say the name of the constellations aloud so I could learn to pronounce them correctly as well, but it's not a big deal. Lovely app filled with great information and structured well.
