Definitely my preferred Android audiobook app. I have my monthly membership and each additional discounted purchase tied to the local bookstore of my choice. As of 7.29.2, it's nice to browse the store and at least spend credits on the app (I still want to buy books that are <$15 using credit card but cannot). And with this latest update, the books' percentages are starting at 100% instead of 0%. Confusing for tracking that in StoryGraph. Edited

Actual customer service? The app is by no means perfect, but I love that I'm supporting my local bookstore and not a greedy billionaire using AI instead of paying voice actors and hasn't had proper customer service in years. This app doesn't display series properly, so I emailed them about it. I got a prompt response that they are working to establish a solution AND they said they'll get back to me. Unheard of, I know. Definitely ditch the other app.

The download functionality is so finicky. Since Libro.fm doesn't allow streaming through its app, it makes the app not functional. My phone is old but I know it's a Libro.fm problem bc Everand's downloading functionality works just fine. I have it enabled to download over cellular but the app refuses to. If the wifi isn't 5 bars strong, its almost impossible to initiate a download. I'm constantly stopping / starting downloads, restarting the app to get it to work.

Like many I'm looking to disentangle myself at least a bit from the larger companies that have taken over every aspect of our lives. I was intrigued to read about Libro, how it was employee owned and partners with local bookstores. And making the switch from BigAudiobookApp was very easy! Libro has a similar subscription program and the ability to purchase more discounted credits. The only downside at the moment is that you cannot purchase books from the app, I hope they add that ability soon.

This is a wonderful option for audiobooks that also supports a local bookstore of your choice. Credits don't expire like they do with other audiobook providers. You can also download the audio files as mp3 files, which you can't do with most others. And it also has great sales. I love Libro and highly recommend it.
