The app was revised and completely overhauled and now works amazingly on my Pixel 8 Pro running Android 14. I think that the previous version of the app before its redesign just didn't like my phone for some reason. In any event it's alerted me to the several recent quakes in So Cal without fail, and seems to notify me quicker than I ever remember, almost as quick as the USGS MyShake app. I can immediately identify where and how big a quake near me was. Thank you for a great app!! Edited

Had issues before this update, but everything seems good now. I like the minimal UI; navigating seems straightforward. I also like how you can click a recorded earthquake on the map, and the details such as magnitude, time, and location are given. The updates seem very quick, if not real-time. I can't think of any improvements, maybe a feed of news or relevant current articles related to the recorded quake. minor nitpick: Thumbsdown icon looks too big/aggressive. Edited

The previous verion used to be simple to use, so I gave it 5 stars. They have made it look pretty and destroyed the user interface. It's difficult to find the info needed. As the shaking stops, I need a simple app with an easy to use, intuitive interface. I want the old app back please. Thank you for the reply. The problem is, there is no menu item labelled 'important'. If you mean that I need to find important info by using the menu, you reinforce my origional review. MAKE IT EASIER! Edited

Robin, go in settings (bottom right) and set your homepage as "significant earthquakes" and that's it! Please let me know

The previous version was really good. I downloaded this latest version on my new phone, and am very disappointed. It rarely works. It's very colorful and has a big full-color map on the home page. Along the top are color coded earthquake icons. Possibly because of these colored extras, it won't function any more. It's very disappointing that this version doesn't work. We had come to relying on checking to old one, as we live in a fault line, as do some friends and family.

Dear Raylène, please report any bugs through the app's menu, it's the only way for us to have the technical info to fix them. The colors are the same as in the previous version. You can set the "significant" page as default, which was the layout of the previous version. What are the issues you have been facing please? Stay safe

App worked well until recently; I was able to see where quakes had occurred worldwide & what their severity was. Now, for reasons unknown, I receive no reports of any quakes anywhere... I just have a blank gray screen. (Android phone, if that matters). Tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, with no improvement. So, now I have an earthquake app that does nothing but occupy system resources. Thus, the one-star rating. Too bad, guys. App was good before, but went off the rails somewhere.
