Easy to install and use. I have my great grandfather's manual pocket compass, but sadly it's way off. This app has a simple animated graphic to calibrate the compass in seconds. I will definitely be using. Where I used to live in the NW and you asked for directions it was, turn Left or turn Right. I'm in the SW now and it's turn North, turn South, East, West...totally useless if you have no idea which way those directions are from where you're standing! This app is a game changer!

Beast Mode If your lost... this compass will get you back to civilization. We broke down 5 miles from the nearest phone tower. Thank God for this compass. I also recommend downloading and using Google maps "Offline Maps" feature. It lets you download Maps from the entire state you're living in. This way the map data is in your phone just in case you do get lost somewhere where there is no service. A full download costs about 600 MB of memory. Honestly that is nothing!! Edited

Basic, simple, just what I wanted in a compass app. Two of the three optional skin colors are hard on the eyes (bright seafoam green and bright purple), so I just keep it on black. Note that the app recommends you calibrate it EVERY time you open the app. I can personally attest that if you don't, the reading can be off by several degrees. (Calibration is simple. Tap the gear icon in the app for instructions.)

Obnoxious ads. REALLY obnoxious. I don't mind banner ads, but this app brings up a full-screen ad EVERY time you start it. Some with obnoxious sound you CAN'T turn off. Some with no "exit" button -- you HAVE to watch all of it. Some with a confusing "exit" button -- you have to be very careful you don't download something you don't want. The PRO version to remove ads? $14 per WEEK! Lots of compass apps out there -- get one that's more reasonable.

Works great on a properly equipped phone. I installed the King Compass app on my my wife's Samsung Note & my Moto G5, which doesn't have a magnetometer. It works fine on the Samsung. I shake my head when I read the 1 star reviews that say it is a garbage app because it doesn't work on phones without a magnetometer. I mean really - the notice comes up every time the app launches. Sounds more like a garbage user who doesn't read and who doesn't know that some app 'failures' are rooted in hardware. Edited

Thanks a lot, you're right, the compass app relies on a magnetometer, a lot of users don't notice this.
