Amazingly well done app. It uses your own personal games to train you, remembering your blunders as problems to solve later. When you make a mistake, they will point it out and sometimes even flip the board so you have the chance to discover the mistake you made. So far it's been the most effective strategy for me to graduate from beginner to (almost) intermediate

I really enjoy this app. It has taught me a lot and is easy to follow. unfortunately, it does have a bug that make it difficult to move forward with the lessons. I am subscribed to coaching and when I complete a lesson objective in a game, it is recognized in that moment but it doesn't transfer over as one of the 5 times I need to perform the strategy to move forward with coaching.

Awesome app. the progression through "mastering" lessons is very finicky. I have connected my rooks at least 50 times now. and it still hasn't accounted for the five I need to move on from this lesson. it has become monotonous. i want to practice the next lessons, but am hard stuck on two that I no longer care to learn. Move descriptions say true things about a position, but not always the truest or most relevant thing. For instance when describing a forced trade of a bishop, Wolf just said "mobilizing the bishop." which is true, but since the bishop's mobility ends with the recapture it's not really helpful or relevant to the ongoing state of the game. I get that this concept is a really difficult and highly technical problem, but I don't think the functionality is quite there yet.

As a beginner, this app has opened up the game of chess for me. I'm a slow learner. Dr. Wolf is less about memorizing moves, and more about understanding them. Even the most elementary lessons are illuminated to spark understanding. Stalemate is a mistake I have made many times, just as an example this app has showed me how to box in the opponent's king safely. Highly recommend!
