The app is good and my 6 year old picked up a few moves faster than what I would have taught him. The pass and play part is mostly good. For the downsides, I cannot find or add any of my kid's friends online so he doesn't get to play with them unless they visit. Also, puzzles without a clear objective is not what a kid is expected to solve (and some of the puzzle solutions are not even the best move). The puzzles vary between one/two step moves and something that needs six steps.

Thank you for this feedback. Kids can challenge their friends to Slow Chess games by tapping on their avatar on the app, then tapping on one of their friends' avatars. We're working to add Live Chess friendly challenges on the app! We'll also review Puzzle functionality, since Puzzle solutions with equivalent moves can be confusing.

The new Puzzles UI prevents learning and maximal board view. Instead of giving a single hint, it now solves an entire puzzle if you ask for a hint. This, it is impossible to step through a puzzle to learn after a single error. Furthermore, my son (with a walrus avatar) has a board so small it's almost impossible for him to click on the right square. My adult human male avatar does not have this problem. Please revert the Puzzles UI to its previous state to allow learning on a full-size board.

A good app, however I would like to know if or and how you can change the colours of the pieces, but if you cannot I would recommend adding that in the next update, I appreciate there are no ads too. Normally, I hate chess, but this app has increased my interest in the game. The only problem my mom and I have found is we have gotten the gold membership, but we are having trouble unsubscribeing. Otherwise a grate app love the puzzles and videos and games with real people, I highly recommend! ♟️♟️ Edited

Excellent app, best to learn chess for all ages, not just kids, but adding a feature for playing with others, not online, but like 2 two-player game would be nice.

This is available on the ChessKid app! Two people can play a local game of chess on the same device using the "Pass and Play" option. Please give it a try and let us know what you think!

As a 29 yearl old that finally learned how to play chess this is a great app! You can play it offline no adverts, you can play with other players online. It explains it for a begeinner 10/10.
