I do plan to use this app for its intended purpose while hiking, but I actually bought it to help select plants for my Puget Basin native flower garden. The granularity of the range map is so much better than broad descriptions found in books and websites. The interface is extremely well-designed, responsive, and so intuitive. Aside from the easy filtering/searching I love that it's a teaching app with additional context, diagrams, and embedded term definitions in plant descriptions. Well done!

Thanks very much for your kind words about the app! I will share your feedback with everyone who worked on the app (UW Herbarium, the author, and the main photographer). We are working to make it even better.

I love it! Just what I have been looking for! I am on a bit of a book restriction due to space. I love the abundance of information. Names, family, habitat, where they have been recorded/found. I have already saved about 20 to my favorite folder that I know I have seen before and as I go through my hiking pictures I plan to learn and add more. I am excited to find even more while adventuring with my son! I do wish I could add my own finds/photos to my own album on the app with the location.

Thank you for your positive review! Great comment on the book restrictions due to space. For saving your photos, we will this summer be adding a quick link integration to iNaturalist, an excellent citizen science platform. You can then identify a plant with Washington Wildflowers, take photos and save them. Contact us: [email protected].

This app is simple to use, much better than most field guide apps I've tried. The interface does not get in your way, and they've done a great job visually representing the various features in the search by characteristics function. Edited

Great app! I find it easier to use than the corresponding book by Turner. it would be better if it were more complete. There are several relatively common plants missing. Edited

Exactly what I was looking for! You put in a few characteristics of the flower like color and leaf type and it pops up a list of likely flower photos for you to choose from.
