As many others are reporting, I am also plagued by the view-only bug. Even though I'm the owner of the document, I'll be editing for a day or two and then eventually I open the app and I'm stuck in view-only. Tried: available offline, switching accounts, restarting app, restarting phone, checking help forums.. I just have to reinstall every time. I'd be able to change to 5 stars if it's fixed but I'm dismayed the bug has been around so long. I hope it hasn't been for lack of trying.

I've always loved having the option to utilize Google Drive and its extensions through the phone. Sheets, however, continues to have an issue where it will randomly enter "View Only" mode despite it being a sheet I made and own, even in the middle of typing in a cell and deleting everything I typed. The only thing I have found to fix this is uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and even then this is only a temporary fix. If this issue finally gets fixed, my rating will increase.

I use Sheets to organize so much in my life! There are a lot of little things on the app that I don't like (as compared to the browser version), including that the colors in dark mode are different (as in, literally different hex values) than in light mode -- making some color combos great on desktop but unreadable on the app, or vice versa.

Much better than the Excel mobile app, which offers very little other than simple text entry. This app has many of the same features as the web app, like conditional formatting and data validation; the means of using these aren't always intuitive relative to how you access them on the web, but the fact that they are included at all makes this app a great tool. Additional features, like clearing text with the context menu and the clock widget on cells formatted as time, are also included.

The app works efficiently until I try to share a sheet with someone who doesn't have a Google account. Then, even when they're listed as an editor, they're restricted from copying and pasting without any reason why. A search of the forums doesn't yield any potential cause. Edit: The last update rendered this question kind of moot, as they just added the ability to convert to .xlsx and I can share that way, but I'm curious to know the answer to the above question.
