Overall, an original and charming game. Lock's Quest was one of my fovorite games as a kid, and I was thrilled to discover a mobile version. Nostalgia aside, the game has some shortcomings. Lock's controls tend to feel clunky and imprecise. Sections of the campaign are repetitive, and it gets tedious to play almost the same map several times in a row. That being said, I believe this game more than makes up for its weaknesses with unique gameplay, appealing visuals, and an intriguing story.

This port is amazing from what I've experienced so far. No framerate issues, and it's optimized well for a single screen device. My only complaint is the controls work well but I do run into difficulty in using the analog stick efficiently; some fine tuning would bring this up to being nearly flawless. The tower defense-RPG style gameplay has held up so well; It's a hidden gem! Edited

Not The Same Game This version is missing alot. Enough to completely change the experience. In the original the building stage had a timer. Meaning you had.alot more pressure to make combos, planning and decisions have much more impact. The Tower defense sections also cut and a number of things have slightly changed I think the original version is an 8 out of 10. This is 6.5 / 10 for me. The game play fails because the game is adapted to the controls. That was probably necessary but still.

I hate tower defense games, however this is the exception. It has a cute plot that takes some surprisingly dark twists, but the characters are well written as well. The gameplay is a well balanced mix of tower defense and action. When you go fight and are about to die from low health you can run off and repair your turrets which can lead to some pretty tense battles.

I like the game, I played the original on my Nintendo ds a long time ago and was quite fond of it so I figured I'd give this a try. It is quite fun but keep in mind there are elements changed from the original, ie you dont build the turrents nor do you operate them in those sequences where you did in the original which is quite saddening as those parts were very fun for me personally. Art, music, writing and gameplay are and have been amazing, it's a rough diamond though.
