Hi, I'm from new app disappointed, the function of pairing on boot sometimes fails at 90%. Most pairing will lead to the third attempt. Then everything works without losing the connection. Tested on three completely different mobile devices. I prefer to use a competitive application because it is better in these points. Pairing with the unit is reliable instant. I have a throttle control for the left hand, the world standart. The application can terminate, Control+ cannot be why? The port can invert the directions. Allow you to control the 4 port for anything light or the engine. Repair serious bugs, otherwise it will Control+ forgotten. Edit: In the new versi no improvements. Edited

Oh no, that doesn't sound right. 😣 Let's fix it! 🤓 The Bluetooth signal distance is 10 m./33 ft., but low batteries or obstacles may decrease it. Ensure that geolocation is on in your device. If the light on the Smart Hub turns blue, connection successful! 📲🚙 If it still doesn't work, reach out at 👉 LEGO.build/DeviceCheck. - Luigi

The app works as inscribed, but it's a real battery drainer, AND you have to keep the car rather close to the device for solid connection. It's fun completing all the challenges and earning all the rewards, and it also IS possible to build your own car, as long as you have all the motors hooked up, and all the motors are calibrated and spinning in the exact directions as in the actual models. The excavator is a bit easy to make your own model out of, while the Xtreme offriader meets standards. Edited

Thanks for your review! ✨ The Bluetooth signal distance is around 10 m/33 ft. 😊 Low batteries and obstacles might affect it. 📲 Try to remove any obstacles if it seems like the distance is shorter than expected. 💪 Happy building! 🤓 -Luigi, LEGO® Customer Service

The app works for my 9800. It has achievements but no way to tell if they're done. But my real gripe is there is no way to set up the controls for a custom model. Unlike past analog systems where you could build and control anything you could dream up, now it's locked down to 8 or so models. Apparently older versions of the app allowed custom models and controls via a "create" button but that seems to have been deleted. They deleted creativity...?!? Hopefully I'm just missing something. Loaded the app and it seemed to work fine on all the Lego test procedures. Did the calibration set up O.K. Drove the model 42100 for less than a minute and the the connection went down. Restarted the app and again it worked for about 1min 30 secs then lost connection. Reinstalled app, re-calibrated and the same thing happened over and over again. New update was released this month (Dec 2019) and it is now even worse and on many occasions refuse to connect at all. Loaded the Buwhizz app and connection is stable and fully functional even though its a pain to set up. Tablet: Lenovo E7. OS: Android 8.1.0 New batteries in smart hubs.

Before installing I read the bad reviews. One was interesting as it mirrored my experience, one controller would not connect. Turns out this was a build error, the upper controller installed backwards and hence all motors connected in the wrong ports. Once changed all went smoothly. Two issues: advice should include motors connected in designated port; and programming does not work on the Samsung, can not drag instructions to the line, nor exit from program screen. A Edited
