a surprisingly fun game. I hadn't played the first one, but the mechanics started out simple enough and progressed into a more and more complex system. Its addicting. at times id sink 3 or 4 hours in at once without realizing it. I was able to overpower most of the bosses eventually but the challenges provided really fun puzzles to make each run a little more complex. The enemy designs were a little cheesy but it didn't detract from the gameplay at all.

Played the first magic research until I'd remade the world twice, loved every second of it. Wasn't sure whether it would even be possible to make a sequel that wasn't just the same game again, but this newer game has achieved an excellent blend of past game mechanics and new concepts. Very much worth the price of purchase, will be recommending both the 1st and 2nd installments to my friends

What an incredibly addictive game! I couldn't put this down for a few weeks until I cleared it. It's a sort of idle/active hybrid, where you watch numbers go up, but progress does come quickly enough that you can play actively. The gameplay loop is delicious, and the most strategy-focused idle-like I've played ever. Beating harder bosses balances gearing up and smart tactics. Combat can be active or passive depending on how you set up. Story is really good. A lot of thought went into it.

An excellent sequel to the original Magic Research. It has a decent balance of grinding, automating, idling, and active battling. The best part is that, like the first game, there's an engaging story where the game mechanics make sense and there's a finite end. I finished the game at 99% completion after about a month, and I feel accomplished and that it was time well-spent (in comparison to a "traditional" idle game that you play infinitely until it becomes a chore).

Well made and balanced game. Unfortunately there are some frustrations. One is the inventory. The pattern of click, scroll, select, scroll again just to "open" any item to view or use it each time is too burdensome for how often you do it. Also the scrolling action conflicts between the items and the larger box (to see an item's details). The other major issue is that the game becomes unplayable at higher levels, performance drops to less than 1 FPS on a Pixel 7 Pro, which is absurd for this
