I love knowing where the lightning and rain are near me and around the country. This is an awesome app for this. User friendly and helpful. You can change settings for just rain or lightning. It tells you how many miles or kms it is from any location. July 12,2025-they updated the app and I hate it, everything about it. Edited

New version 4 broken! Give us the old one back! Fantastic App. I hope latest version has fixed the problem of reliable notifications when lightening is approaching, which historically has been intermittent. Latest version 3.3.3 has new minor problem where upper left display of distance to nearest lightening now reverts to km, not imperial miles,, regardless of setting. But overall this is a wonderful app to notify you of nearby lightening storms. Highly recommended, with a few minor bugs. Edited

Thanks for your input, I'll report this back to the team so they can see what is going on.

This app is wonderful! It tells you when lightening is close by and you can see it on the radar. I love the real time updating. It's self explanatory, easy to use. No complicated settings. I really love the distance circles. Great job! EDIT: This app needs updating. It has not been updated in several years. It's such a useful app, why are you not updating this? Edited

Location search is awful. Type in "Brookfield" and you get a list of 20 or more with no additional info like state. You get a picture of a flag to indicate country but when it seems there's a Brookfield in every other state in the US, it becomes extremely cumbersome to find the right one. You have to click one, let it go there on the map, delete that one if wrong, click the next one on list after re-running search every time. Tip: don't lose your spot in the results.

It works well and was the only one of its kind I could find (that works) that doesn't require GPS and allows me to enter (and save) multiple different locations. I need to monitor places 1400–2200 miles from where I live. It has a setting for alerts for any/all locations. However, in 2–3 yrs of using it I don't think I've ever actually gotten a notification. I monitor weather for these locations via another app and open this when I need it. Wish list: more locations in database, notifications.
