Stellarium is an excellent app for photographers, and anyone who is curious about the night sky! What I love about it is that I can go back in time to remind myself of which stars or planets I photographed. Stellarium is incredible, but Stellarium Plus's massive database opens up the universe with more stars and objects.

Amazing App! I initially had an issue with the app not calibrating properly and I contacted the developer. Fabien quickly returned my email and had me reboot my phone and recalibrate and the problem was solved! I use the app to locate objects for astrophotography and it is a necessity! Love the detailed photos of the deep space objects, the actual live tracking of satellites, the seemingly infinite database of information on almost every object in the night sky imaginable, etc, etc... I have used a multitude of different astronomy apps and nothing comes close to Stellarium. Highly recommend. Get it now!!!

I initially had an issue with the app crashing, but tech support contacted me and we got it working. The app has a lot of good features, but it is sometimes difficult to navigate to the features I want. I would also like to have the ability to see the actual sky with the app semi transparent, so I can better line up what I am seeing with what the app is showing me. However, this app is really nice and worth the price. Edited

The app seems to be pretty decent all-around, I rated it a 3 because I have problems calibrating it. If I use the built-in calibration, it never gets past 10%. I calibrated it using the Google Maps method but no joy. I have tried it in a Pixel 2 and a S8+ and still the same problem. It almost looks like it is pointing to Magnetic North not True North. I used the Moon and a point of reference.

Sorry for the issue. As you guessed, we are currently pointing to the magnetic north. It's an issue on android, but the fix is under testing, and will be released in the coming days.

I had used the PC version of Stellarium years ago, and always found it to be overwhelming. I just bought this Android version to find the passing comet, and am amazed at how easy it is to use. The only thing that took me a while to figure out is how to get it to follow my phone again after zooming in - you just aim the phone straight up (this fact was probably shown in some tutorial box that I ignored...)
