It's really easy to connect and looks great on my phone. Still some room for improvement: out of the box, it doesn't work with GPS on my phone (the app didn't ask for any permissions); also it doesn't allow to enable fish notifications (pretty crucial functionality). Hasn't been updated in years.

Those with issues - read below... App works as advertised every single time. Will combine with Navionics and never has an issue. Problems- 1. Update your wifish!!! Mine came with old software and would drop signal contantly. Would also randomly switch between metric and imperial units. 2. If its been updated and continues to drop wifi, but only once in awhile, touch the unit and see if its hot. I had to move mine out if the sun to remedy overheating. 3. You CAN connect 5 devices at 1nce

I having been using the Wi-Fish app on all of my devices (phones Samsung and HTC) tablets (Rooted Nook, and some off brand tablets). It works as advertised on all these device. Resolution is best on the Nook since it has the brightest screen and can be used in bright daylight.. but the con is the battery draw. The Nook only last a few hours. So I then go to the lower brightness screens of the off brand tablets. I have also incorporated the Marine Navigation app to use in the split screen mode. Works without flaw. The Nook does not have GPS and if your tablet does not you need to run an app called GPS tether and tether the nook via Bluetooth to your cell phone. One issue many of those experiencing crashes might have, may be related to your WI-FI settings on your device. You need to forget all WI-FI connections except for the WI-Fish to ensure the system is only going to be looking for the WI-Fish. 2019 Update - The Nook I was using had to use a side app to get GPS on the Nook from my phone. I opted to purchase a Samsung Tab 4. It has a brighter screen than other android tablet. Using a Unicorn it and it protect the tablet from war and impact. Edited

Is it only me or the depth and temperature, although displaying properly on my phone, don't log properly when you save a waypoint? Water always seems to be at 32F, and depth at 0. As mentionned, the data on the Dragon Fly 4 and the Wi-Fish app are fine, it's just when I save a way point on my phone that the data seems to get to the wrong values. I'm using the latest Wi-Fish version on a Galaxy Note 8 (android).
